The Web Public Access Catalogue (WebPAC) is the first port of call to all library users as it serves as a window to the collection of Bellstech Library. Ease of access to the Library collection is facilitated through assigned call numbers and barcode labels affixed to the books and imputed in the library software through cataloguing process. This makes the process of retrieval faster than the traditional approach where card catalogues are engaged.
The WebPAC is accessible remotely, which makes it very convenient for faculty, staff and students to access library holdings from the comfort of their homes, offices, halls of residence and indeed anywhere across the globe. This remote access saves the time of users, as they do not have to get to the library to begin the search process for materials needed. Reservation of books can also be done outside the walls of the library.
Library patrons have the opportunity to access electronic books, journals and digitized collections with ease as the WebPAC operates 24/7. Apart from knowing which materials are available in the library, patrons also enjoy the comfort of reading some of the electronic books at their pace and convenience.
